Very much enjoying these images. Pretty sure I have the same or very similar plant in my garden - obtained from a garden supply, but a slightly different common name = "seaside thistle." I no longer have the the label from and cannot remember the scientific name.

Below is a local, probably native thistle, the flower not yet open. Similar prickly plant. X-posted

I've been posting images of this Rose here since 2015, I'm just pleased that another year passes and I've not killed it yet... as it belonged to both my Grandfather and Father before me.

In fact this year is probably it's best showing since it's been in my care.

Scanned from a chrome, which has given this flower image an odd look - a bit soft, colors a little pastel - that's OK.

Aperture stacked. Normally I do this with lensbaby velvet 56 but here we see the versatile HD DA 20-40 have a go at it.

Rudbeckia in the wildflower patch, and a cosmos growing in a tub on the deck. I love the way the cosmos' petals start curled before they open out flat.
