Thank you Ivanvernon! K-30, usually coupled with the Tammy 70-300mm, though on this occasion I think it was the Kit lens 50-200mm. ECIF Data on the Flickr page says f/4.5 for the former and f/5.6 for the latter.

These definitely with the Tammy

That Tammy is serving you well.

There's one particular place we walk where these big purple asters are blooming in abundance.

And for something a little different - - I ran one of the images of asters that I took a few days back through the filter gallery in PS, and several of the filters looked pretty good, at least to my eye. Four versions below. If you think one is particularly better, I'd be interested to know which one. PS: The third one is near normal.

Thanks. That big Tammy zoom is working nice for you. I gotta start using a zoom lens some day real soon. However, I been using primes so long that even when I have a zoom installed, I tend to walk forward or backward to frame the shots!

I like the last one. It's like looking through a wall of glass block.

I think that is exactly what the filter is trying to do. Cropping out a small section, nine down to as few as four of the blocks, will sometimes yield a very interesting near-abstract, different in appearance from the image posted.

Bigger, well sort of, they're not tiny and were shot with the lowly A 50mm f2 on the Blue Knight K-30 @f14.
