Dahlia from our garden

Here is a dahlia from our garden, continuing garden shots with K-1 and Pentax 67 75mm f 2.8. Forum review shows MFD as 41 cm or about 16 inches, but on the K-1 and using the square original hood, the hood almost touches subject before losing focus so that filling the frame with flowers is no problem. I have never heard the matter discussed, but I have noticed for several 645 and 67 lenses, MFD seems to decrease when the lenses are adapted to the K-1. I have no idea why that should be true.

Beautiful hibiscus. I have never seen the yellow ones. We have red, pink, and white, but I gotta look for this one!

If ever you have occasion to visit southeastern Pennsy, be sure to visit Longwood, the incredible Dupont estate, and there go into the miles of greenhouse and locate the hibiscus room where there's almost certain to be a hibiscus in bloom with any color you could imagine. But that room is nothing compared to the much smaller orchid room. How they manage to keep so many different orchids blooming at the same time is mind blowing.

Thanks for the information. I checked it out on-line and it is indeed quite amazing. I must plan a visit.
