Cactus Orchid

Not really an orchid but commonly known as such. A native of Mexico ending up on our shores in Durban.

Some tropicals

First, "torch ginger", Etlingera elatior, and then "Brazilian red cloak", Megaskepasma erythrochlamys (say that five times...)

Two more orchids whose identity I would not hazard to guess. I suspect the first one is an insect-mimic.

Gorgeous! The first one is an Oncidium-alliance hybrid of some sort, maybe a Colmanara. Not an expert on this group of orchids, sorry, but there are indeed some insect-mimics among them. Second one is a hybrid Phalaenopsis.
