A few years ago I discovered that painted trillium grew along old woods road where we regularly walk. They come and go quickly, and despite large size and conspicuous primarily white color, you have to be alert to spot them as they are widely scattered, isolated plants, and not all that many. We made a point to look for them this year and were rewarded for our effort.
