There is a large "Tiny Flowers" thread already going. These were too big for that one, and there must be more. Post 'em :-)

The Pink Bunch

Good idea. All the tiny ones around here are under a foot or so of snow.

I usually have some in my garden by the end February. It's not looking good this year.

I've posted quite a few in the Tiny Flowers thread, since those are some old favorites of mine and I started the thread, but I also shoot a lot of larger wildflowers, too big for that thread. Here are a few samples...

Wild Sunflowers after a good dew

Purple Gallardia. Fall bloomer, about an inch long

Beebalm, b;looms in late summer I think, this one about 3 inches tall

Spider Lily. Grows all along the roadsides in Louisiana and Texas

Not sure what this one is, either a Lily or Canna or maybe Calla...I don't know...and it's right here in my sister's yard...go figure...

Mexican Hat. Common early summer flower around here, about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall.

Here's one that's not backlit

I have more, but I guess I better stop before this post gets way long...

Shooz - No way to ID that one just from the picture, most of the time you need to see the leaves too since some flowers are similar.. More likely an Aster though. size and leaf shape are needed to get a better idea what it actually is.

A few more from days of more comfortable weather...

One of my best tries at a shot like this. Most just don't come out decent...Brown Eyed Susans, up to 2 inches across or a bit bigger

Coreopsis, about the size of a quarter

Can't remember what these are, just beginning to open in my mother's flower bed and a favorite of the Hummingbirds. Hey there's one now! They open up to bigger than your hand.

I call this one Blowin' in the Wind. Took me about 20 tries to get one that came out just right. Wild Sunflower.

Meadow Beauty. About 1 1/2 inches across.

Aster about 1 1/4 inches after a rain shower.
