I think photography can be an art form and it can also be a documentation tool. This post leans more toward documentation.
First up is a rest area on Interstate 75 northbound just south of Gainesville, FL. The state is economically diversified and prosperous, and takes good care of its tourists.
My 20-something daughter used to watch an inane comic called "The Squidbillies" which was set in "deepest butt-crack Georgia". Once when we crossed from a particularly ravaged part of South Carolina (Allendale County) into a particularly desolate part of Georgia (Screven County), she asked if we were in "deepest butt-crack Georgia". I told her that was an accurate description of all of Georgia, except for a few locations around Atlanta, Athens and Savannah. No offense to any Georgians or South Carolinians. They are both beautiful states with friendly, decent people, plus the fishing and hunting are probably superb.
Here we have the Post Office for the unincorporated community of West Green, GA. What it lacks in grandeur is more than made up for by the nice paint job and tidy lawn.
Next up is the Uvalda, GA Police Department. I don't quite know what to think. Surely the old Chevy is not the squad car?
Finally, the City Hall of Bartow, GA. Yes, that's a Little Free Library out front.
