Sheesh! I've gotten behind in uploading and that has made the project seem like more of a chore. I am taking images, just getting them processed and uploaded is bogging me down! I'll definitely be sitting out next month, since I never want this joyous hobby to feel like work. :-) Going to finish out the month, as I still have a couple ideas, thematically...

Sorry, I haven't uploaded today and the way things look it will be later tomorrow - I see one of my specialists and my physio so it's a full day for me (and today was a full one as well). I have a photography seminar/presentation by a Canadian photographer (Andre Gallant - andregallant.com) on Saturday and Sunday I am heading south for a week. I have a full few days so my apologies, I will finish the month - I am not bailing - just a little overwhelmed.

I did wonder where you'd been, as it were. Daily posting can either become just habitual and feel ok, or begin to feel onerous. Happily, it's gone the way of the former for me (just as well, coming up on four years of daily photographs - mostly on blipfoto), but if you're feeling it as a chore, best regroup.

Keep well, and enjoy the seminar

I love this daily shooting! It's about 9 months since I joined this challenge, and now photography is part of my everyday life, like eating. ( Both for pleasure )

Daily shooting is great! I pretty much have done that anyway, for the past year that I've owned the K-30. Actually, tomorrow is mine and the K-30's one-year anniversary! I still have a lot to learn and I've barely scratched the surface of what the camera is capable of.

It's just that for the past year I shoot during the week and then bunker down over the weekend and revel in post-processing, which I thoroughly enjoy, and uploading.

I've felt doubly bad because I am very interested in looking at others' photos on Flickr, and commenting, but that falls by the wayside when I'm feeling pressured to upload and post. Maybe I will still "play" in future months, and take daily photos (like I said, I do it anyway), but accept that once a week might be all I'll be able to contribute.

Que sera, sera!

Oh, I'm behind in posting yet again this month and will catch up tonight. To much going on. Just normal stuff for these challenges.

I have found I am near exhausted after a Challenge month so I can relate to what you are saying. Taking images is one thing, but the pp'ing and selection is time consuming, and then there is looking at everyone else's efforts. Too many 12 and 1am nights! I'm keeping myself to a couple of challenges a year so that I can really put an effort into them. Hats off to those who can sustain the pace over multiple months.

But I lurk about the Singles threads regularly to see what's happening.

I was in KLIA yesterday, flying to Darwin.

Found the taxi ride to the airport somewhat 'interesting'. Doing 150km/h in a Proton seven seater van weaving in and out of traffic (and while in a 50km/h speed limited section of road works to boot) wasn't quite my idea of a relaxing journey from KL!

Hi ya! I'm back form Cuba...well I did shoot a lot but I haven't gone through them and I wished that I could have use internet while at there, but it was soooo difficult...so I'm totally behind. I can post images at threads, but I think that I'm out. I'll come back to it after my jetlag.

Take care.

End of the month is coming....and another challenge almost finished.

I may start commenting on other pictures tomorrow, throughout the month I only had time (and willpower) to just take pictures, editing and posting it here.

Next month....maybe? I do have few lenses to try...will post them up as my entry today (maybe in a few hours)

I don't know if I'm going to finish this month. Took a lot of pictures on Sunday (and a handful yesterday) but every time I try to open LR to edit them my laptop crashes.

May put a damper on May as well, or I may have to just go SOOC.

Time to wrap this month up. I shot all month with the Tamron Adaptall 44A 28-70 f3.5-4.5. Our lens data base rates this lens @ 8.14 which is a good rating. It's also given an 8 for sharpness. Except for one day when I used it on the K5, all of my images were shot with my K20d, I typically had a hood for it, and a CPL as well. For the record my adaptall mount was the latest one which provides lens info to the camera. Given that this lens cost me all of about $10, I'd have to say for the money it's a high value lens. Had I paid $100 for it, I'd have to say that I wasted my money. Like most adaptall lenses I've used, it's built like a small tank. No complaints there. I will say that there was a tendency during focusing for the lens to wobble a bit on the camera causing loss of f-stop info to the camera, easily fixed by slight movement of the lens but it was one more thing to deal with during shooting.

Pros
nice zoom range and it's close focusing at 70mm was the best thing I liked about this lens. I used this quite a lot this month and was very pleased with this result.

Cons
because the front element rotates with focusing, use of a CPL is tricky.
obtaining sharp focus was difficult, I use a lot of manual focus lenses quite successfully but this one gave me fits getting sharp images. I almost suspect that it may need calibration. I have posted a number of shots which were just soft. Yikes.
I got a lot of blown out images when the lens was pointed towards strong light sources, but found that underexposing a bit (1ev) generally corrected this.

The bottom line for me on this lens is that @ $10 it was hard to pass this lens up but that I have so many other lenses between 28mm and 70mm that I have no need of this just average lens. It's going in the spring cleaning pile for sale soon.
