The lens cost 695 guilders in 1972 which would be around 2000 dollars in todays money. It better be capable of something

It isn't as good at rendering 1:1 as a DA* 300mm but I think it is sharper than many of those older 200mm manual lenses out there.

Another hazy (massive sublimation from having had six inches of snow a couple of days ago when the air temperature was in excess of 50 fahrenheit at four o'clock this morning) moon shot. Irix 11mm "Blackstone".

Every time I see this thread pop up I think I'm going to see the wrong kind of moon... lol.

I saw this and frantically ran inside for my gear. I setup and then - wrong lens (DA 55). No matter 2 more in the bag, FA 31, DA 20-40... argh... not wide enough! Run in and grab 12-24. Can't get it to focus even on live view magnified due to the size of the blob. Spin to infinity, load up the f/stop to f/22... NO CARD!!!! ARGH. Run in again. Grab a card... finally take the shot. During the dark frame subtraction there is a plane flying right through the scene - dang - wish I had known I would have shot it. Make a few extra shots... Exhausted I go inside.

That describes most nights I go out. :P move the mount, move the scope, plug everything in, go back in and start the software...go back out and hookup the network, go back in take a test shot, go back out and unlock the focuser(gah!) It's not so bad in the months I put things together out front 20ft away for northern targets, but in the winter it means 14 stairs and changing from slippers to boots each go.
Great job getting the ring to show up!
