Finally; getting some I think are halfway decent. Still fuzzy, but better. This with new-to-me FA* 300 f/4.5 w/ 1.7x TC/mf adapter. Fuzziness looks like motion-blur to me, so I hope to get better. Finally got a lens I like, thanks to member @Greyser, who was generously willing to part with such a fine combination.
That looks like the moon I saw this morning leaving for work. I could have sworn I saw earthshine on the dark half, something i do not associate with quarter moons.

Very nice. I envy your results. My 500mm wishes it was this sharp.

Not technically perfect, but for a handheld grab shot it was better than I thought it would be. K-3 with K 200mm f/4 lens.

I looked at the moon again this morning (pretty close to the zenith with really clear skies); I definitely saw earthshine even though it was just past the last quarter.

I'd be willing to bet it WAS the same moon!
That's an astronomically accurate statement,

I'm pretty sure they didn't swap out moons between one day and the next!

I see some of you are hand holding. Kudos and awe from me. I use a heavy tripod and do the 3 second delay, cable release, I hold my breath, etc.

I have used hand holding for photographing the full moon; after all, it is in full sunlight, so the sunny 16 rule applies when setting your exposure.
