Must have been a lot of effort going into that one. It made me go, "Oooh!". Fantastic result, entirely plausible, doesn't look gaudily post-processed. Dynamic range really wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
I agree. That's a good one!

I have this strange desire to fish the moon out of the water.

That's no moon. It is a giant angler fish about to strike.

Ah, it's that bioluminescent bulb at the end of its stalk! That must some angler fish!

I wanted to photograph the moon and the planets Wednesday night, but a raging snowstorm got in the way. Here is what I was able to achieve the next night, after the storm had moved out.

Hope being on the east side of the Cascades gives you better skies,
Over here on the Salish Sea, we have a "River of Rain" forecast for the weekend and into next week,
Storms stacked up across the Pacific, rolling in until Christmas Day at least.

Actually it's the Rocky Mountains. Our home is 5 Km/3 mi West of the Continental Divide, 50 Km/30 mi N of the 49th parallel. 49º44' N 114º52' W and unfortunately we are in a fairly deep valley making views to the NE and SW obstructed at low altitudes. I plan on trying with K-3 + AFA1.7x + M400/5.6 weather permitting.

The weather in Connecticut is calling for mostly sunny conditions during the day on Monday, then transitioning to mostly cloudy that night. Hopefully, the clouds won't roll in before the big show!
