I'm guessing he is doing some candid street photography, controlling the camera from his smartphone because it has no flippy screen.

I'm shocked, there are two people in the photo using cell phones to actually TALK to someone.

What a lovely 8x10 field camera. Recessed lens board, plenty of front rise possible. Super.

Not sure what he's going to do with it, and no tripod,
don't see a hand grip on it : )

Tripod is standing closed in front of right leg- seems a bit flimsy for this setup though...

Thanks for pointing it out, almost invisible,
Agree looks flimsy for this rig, tripod should weigh at least as much as the camera,

Probably using a data service like WhatsApp or Line. The telco would not be making money from it.

I know you can't see her camera, but it's there. This was the only angle I had for the shot.

Way back in the way back machine for this one. An image from the family archives of my father in Regina sometime in the mid 1950's with a TLR that I can't quite identify.

It looks quite small. I wonder if it was one of the 4x4 models like the baby Rollei? Nice image, BTW.

Thanks. I've tried a few resolutions and cropping my scans to pick up more detail on the camera, but not really having much luck. Most of the family images that have come to me from that time frame are 6x9 format, but not to say that he may not have had a square format camera around then. I know that he still had a square format TLR around a decade later, as that was the first camera that I used myself.
