I wonder if the two photographers date the same girl

Perhaps we should not make fun of people who are different than us. Emerging science and talk shows tell us that some people are just born other brands.

I recently got one myself. They are nice bags for very little cost.
The lead photographer, the one in blue shirt and light colored shorts, was the one closest to the couple and gave directions and would have them look in his direction. The second photographer, the one in blue shirt and light colored shorts, was taking shots from another perspective and did not want them to look in his direction.

Using a flash gun in broad daylight from that distance... with a diffuser. Why?

this one taken yesterday by my wife, shooting a balloon festival in Upstate NY.

I'm sure you can gather why they call me big Ben

This is what I was taking pictures of....https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/37551-balloon-fest.html

Yeah I assumed they were used to dimish shadows or freeze the water but had doubts about the effectiveness at that range. The flashes were firing and the guys were making adjustments often.
I was at a home town football game a few weeks ago and mentioned to my wife why someone in the 30 feet tall press box behind us was using a flash more than 80 feet away from the action on the field. No other flash units were being used and triggered from a distance.
I probably do some dumg stuff to sometimes just to see the results or hope that it works.

The flash would be effective for fill at that range but the diffuser is useless IMHO. Since the diffuser spreads the light so much (which is what makes it good for indoors) they are most likely shooting at a much higher power than necessary. If they took the diffuser off, lowered the power, they would get the same effect and quicker recycles, and more shots from the same batteries.... Just my 2c... what do you expect from a canon shooter?

Another question.. why are two people taking pictures of the same subject? Unless it's a press event, I don't see the point. Just share over the internet!

That looks more like a photographer's lifestyle: tripod and timer.

Great thread. Thanks NM for reviving it, I hadn't seen it before...

Two firefighters shoot an airtanker dropping water on a fire while the third set's up a remote camera site to continue doing so...
