I think I see more backwards hoods than correctly oriented ones these days...

Yep, it's not just Canon owners, Sony folk do it too as in this image.

Or as in this shot, it widens the lens so you can get a better hold.

perhaps a little too much?

At a friend's wedding today.

It was meant to be outdoors on the Sydney Harbour foreshore but the weather didn't play nice.

That's a Canon C100 Cinema-EOS with a 200-400 f4 L (w/ 1.4x) - perhaps little bit of overkill indoors

They were running 2 of these C100's and the other one had a Zeiss 85mm among other lenses.

Still photos were taken care of with a trio of 5D's and and an assortment of "Red rings"
The usual suspects 24-70 and 70-200 plus I spotted a 14/2.8, 135/2 and the so called magic 85/1.2

The trouble with all these Canon lenses is they're so huge I couldn't fit any of them in my pockets.

I got a few nice shots with my K-5 / FA31 but I hope the official shots are going to be spectacular for what it must've cost to run all that kit!

Thanks Dave. Glad I brought the P&S along that night as my ol' *istD batteries died after a half dozen shots....

Helpful to eliminate those pesky "backlight" problems coming from behind the photag/camera ... J

Pentax user with a Sigma 70-300 ... one of the world's ugliest hoods.

Hey, we were trying to maintain the illusion that Pentax users were too smart for that.
