We got snow too now. But only a tiny bit for a great tit:
Snow in France - and not a flake in Denmark yet. So weird. I'm sure the yard birds don't mind though.

Today I needed a manual focus lens to play with Catch in Focus so I dug out my Vivitar (by Kobori) 35-200 3.0-4.5.

Gave up on CIF for a while and took these instead

100% crop:

The three Amigos:

And lucky last:

I can see myself using this lens again.

this coopers hawk has to be one of my favourites. He/she has no fear of the 20+ crows in my yard and helps me get rid of them

The crows around here, don't hang around long. As soon as we see them they're gone, maybe it's the four dogs....

Cross posted from Post Your Photos... and the 300mm lens club.

K-3 A-400 ƒ5.6 (wide open) Aperture Priority, ASA went from 100 to 400 to 800 in the time I was in the blind, shutter speeds were slow, lot's of motion blur,

It's a crummy day with not much light, never the less I decided to go sit in the blind for a bit just before dark. These would be boring images unless you've got a short memory and don't remember the last time I was out. For those with Alzheimers.

I got one decent abstract....

The first is a Hairy, the second is a Downy, taken from the same distance and location of anyone wants to check out the size difference between the two species.

The White Breasted Nuthatch

The ever-present Chickadee

The Downy at the hanging suet.

And back to the Red Breasted Nuthatch... also in the first image posted.

Still good shots and you get more variety then me.

Anyway I played with Catch in Focus on the Vivitar 35-200 yesterday.

First two shots are a Noisy Miner in the front yard:

And then a Rainbow Lorikeet at the feeding station:

All in all I'm reasonably happy with both C.I.F and the lens.

Some of the winter regulars have been finding my feeders...

White Throated Sparrow, also posted in POTW

Carolina Chickadee and I think it's a Chipping Sparrow but not sure

Inca Doves are here year round, sit on the feeder and pig out till I spook them so everyone else can have a turn

Mockingbirds are also here year round, first time I've seen one check out the feeder though...didn't eat as far as I Know, I thought they were essentially insect eaters...

Tufted Titmouse is another year round resident, and usually the first one to the feeder

Pine Warbler, only here for the winter but pretty regular visitor to the feeders.

Still looking for Goldfinches, Dark Eyed Junco, Bluejay (here, just not at the feeder...yet...), Red Bellied Woodpecker (ditto), Pine Siskin...

I envy you the variety you have at this time of year. We do have a few Mockingbirds around here in Ontario though (not at my feeder) - they will hang around berry bushes and feed on these through the winter.
