You get a lot of sideways glances if your in the office with a camera and telephoto lens on your desk

Out for a Sunday drive and found a red tail hawk. K-70 and my Swiss Army Knife lens- Sigma DC EX 18-300 HSM at 300mm.
I would love to have taken the hawk photos with my DA*300 and HD 1.4X, but Sunday drive with the wife and dog dictates limited equipment. The Sigma never ceases to amaze me- except for its s-l-o-w AF. I think HSM stands for horrible slow motor.

Nice capture. Surprisingly good resolution from a superzoom.

One of our resident Grey Shrike-thrush. K-S2 + DA 55-300 PLM at 300mm

It's slow with Pentax cameras, with Nikon not so much. (I've used it with a Nikon D7500)

I'm sure the later firmware updates available for Nikon, Canon and Sony help with the speed. No support from Sigma for Pentax. My copy randomly freezes until the camera (any body I've tried) is powered off, then on. I've missed some shots, especially since you must use the manual focus switch on the lens to unlock the focusing ring.

That's strange, I haven't experienced that with my KP or K3.

The Sigma does it on my KP (2) and K-70. Most often on the K-70. I bought it at a very good price from a PF member in Ireland, maybe it is homesick.
