The goldfinches are trying to blend in with the blooming pussy willow bush.
Both with the K300mm at f8.

I called Tess over for these, she says 'They're gorgeous." She's a better gusher than I am.

Thank you, and Tess for the kind comments! I saw this guy hopping around the limbs, and luckily it ended up in front of the kitchen window.

I've been doing my homework and reading, "Photography & the art of seeing", from your recommendation in another thread. Maybe I inadvertently learned something.

Unusual to see the Junco up on the feeder. He was aggressive too, he was chasing away the Chickadees...

I've had them on the porch rail before, but only if there was no seed on the porch. Given a choice, they usually like to be on the ground. All the sparrows do that little leaf scattering dance in the ground leaf cover. I'm guessing they find grubs and stuff. I've seen them a number of times with what looked like an ant egg or something.

That is kind of my philosophy for wildlife. Pick the best spot to take the picture, set up to shoot there. Hope the animal decides to stop there for bit. Sometimes the animal doesn't co-operate and you spend some time just getting "something" not really what you wanted but something, but when you get what you want it can be spectacular. That's how you end up getting extraordinary photos when everyone else out there gets something pretty average.

This yellow-rumped warbler has been getting into pollen when not at the suet feeder.

K-3 and Siggy 150-500

This white cockatoo was happily chewing on my back neighbors gum tree. I started to talk to it to get its attention, and it gave me this " filthy " look !!
Thanks for having a look.

First time I've ever seen a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in my yard. Not a great photo, heavily cropped, and the light is terrible today...

Hey, guys, I finally fixed my Firefox issue! So here's a Coopers Hawk in that mess of a snow we got back on 3/14. Taken handheld with the FA*300 and FA 1.7x on a K5IIs.

Eating at the suet feeder is a dirty business for this member of the downy woodpecker pair that have been hanging around the yard.

I like the little droplets on the head of your last Junco. Makes me shiver.

The red wing blackbird is my official "spring is here" bird. They don't usually get in the pussy willow next to the house.

While I was grilling this evening (chicken) I laughed when I noticed that a couple of the chickadees were still grabbing seeds off the feeder, and landing in the pussy willow
The feeder was about 10 FT from the grill. Then I started to feel bad when I opened the grill, to check the chicken
