And here's that leucistic finch again. Being able to track a specific individual bird is kind of interesting.

I noticed a couple of days ago that the caddis hatch is on so was not surprised by the arrival of the Kingbirds.

Finally got a hummingbird feeder hung up yesterday. By the time these two found it the feeder was in dark shadow. 55-300mm PLM.

I'm not getting any birds this year for some reason. I think it's because of my vacation to Jacksonville when I stopped putting out the peanut butter. Well, I've decided to continue that regime, and this week will be spreading the butter around to draw the birds in so I can photograph them. They also don't seem to like just sunflower seeds in the feeder so I'm going to change that too, and feed the sunflowers to the squirrels on the ground.

at the feeder today

The rose-breasted grosbeaks arrived here today, pretty much on schedule. Strange thing is about 12 evening grosbeaks are still in the area. Typically they are headed north to their breeding range by the 1st of April. Perhaps Norm is right in saying that maybe I have some keepers for the season.
Best Regards, Bob

need some help

Would someone please help me to ID these two warbler size birds. My wild guess on the first one is it might be an immature white-eyed vireo. I have no clue as to the second. Here are 2 photos of each.
OK, now my guess on the second bird is a blue-gray Gnatcatcher.
Best Regards, Bob

My guesses...
1st: Acadian Flycatcher?

2nd: Blue-gray Gnatcatcher?

Robins are hatching. Looks like 3 of the 5 so far

I agree with the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, but I think the first one is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Both are very active and hard to photograph - congrats!

You can find some more pics of the Kinglet here - in fact this is a great site for photos of northeastern N. American birds.

Thank you very much. If I zoom in on the last photo I can see the dark line above the eye, so with the 2 votes from you folks I believe that is a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.

Thank you for your opinion and that awesome website. I agree with you after viewing the photos on that web. Funny thing is in the past I have spotted the male kinglet but never connected my memory to the shots I just took. I will post the shots that I got today, needless to say I have been quite lucky.

Thanks again, Best Regards, Bob

Pleased to help jabobby. I've been pleased to contribute some of my own images to that site. Of course Cornell University's "Merlin" bird identification app is always another option.

fun on the farm

Luck on the farm is more like it. Here are a couple more shots I got today of the female Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
Best Regards, Bob
