Two more "new to me" birds in the same area.

The Golden Whistler and the Fan-tailed Cuckoo.

My first time in the blind all month.
K-3 and Tamron SP AF 2.8 LD [IF] and HD DA 1.4 TC

What are the grackles doing you might wonder?

Mr. Crow is watching from a distance.

An immature Starling hanging with the Grackles? It's my best guess.

Something weird going on with the sun...ƒ45 and Live View comes in handy occasionally.

A few from today, another busy day. There's never enough time to just sit, relax and shoot.

Well, it's that time of year again.

The boys have got their courting finery on.

One of my favorite visitors

But it has definitely been the year of the Flicker--their antics have been a lot of fun. Here's an (uncharacteristically) heroic pose.

This guy looks like he just spilled something on his rented tux.

An inter-species encounter

And...

I got a few from the backyard this morning. The first one I haven't seen around here since spring at which time I didn't know what it was and couldn't get a clear shot enough to tell what it was.

The non breeding House Sparrow:

And one for the bird bath:

Then a juvenile Northern Cardinal eats peanut butter:

There is no sun today so none have the catch light.

He spotted me.
