The finches are just starting turn colors.

SMC-K 300mm at f8

After closer inspection, I noticed this was an action shot. Lighten the load before take-off.

Nice pictures, the goldies in my yard are also starting to turn yellow. They are swarming to my 24 inch tube feeder and emptying in less than 2 days.

Thank you! These little guys are having to compete with a group of sparrows, and now the red-winged blackbirds are back.

I haven't seen the gold finches here yet. They usually show up in April. I have to get the sock feeder out before that time.

Here's two from today, Mockingbird and female Northern Cardinal.

Happens to me all the time.

But the Grey Butcherbird is now a "Yardbird".

Nice picture. Tiny active chickadees are not easy to get pictures of.

I am hoping one day to get an image of a Wren that occasionally visits the trees and bushes around my back garden. On yet another cold and overcast day I can hear it singing...but it is too far away to bother with. The other birds are wary this morning but I managed this Robin that visited briefly, looking a bit broad in the beam, must be those mealworm infused suet pellets I have been putting out.
Caught him just as he was taking off for greener pastures.
