I spent a couple of hours this morning trying to get some images of the Robin family that have nested in next door's leylandii hedge. In the mornings the male is perched prominently in the garden and I can get to within 2 or 3 feet of him on the way to put some bird food on the table. As soon as I get the camera out, 8 to 10 feet is the nearest he or his mate will come.
Today I cunningly put some bird food in the garden, parked myself near the Japanese maple and waited with my Tamron 90mm 52BB.
Neither of the Robins came close to the food though they did come and sit in the maple! This is the female I believe, usually the shyer of the pair.
Not much to show for a couple of hours, maybe I should make myself a blind like to better bird photographers do.
Cropped a bit.
