I have to ask you know. Is your house open? You seem to get birds, bugs, and now ducks in your house. Do you not have doors or windows? LOL Couldn't resist Noel.

And if you do leave your doors open, where are the camera goodies kept, don't make me search the whole house.

Photolady95, I have a metal grid security gate and I leave the glass door open. These ducklings easily fitted under the security door! Still baffled as to how they arrived here. And as cute as they were, I told the receptionist at the SPCA, I had no intention of suddenly becoming a father instantaneously
One of the reasons I leave the door open, is that many moons ago, I read an article that stated that the best way to get rid of house mites, is to leave the windows and doors open! And seeing that I can suffer horribly from hayfever and Asthama it has helped quite a bit to keep the air circulating as much as possible.
Sorry Normhead, the Camera goodies are kept in my bedroom, and you'll need a axe, grinder and hacksaw to get in there! Ducklings of course are given free access

Is there a place to rent tools nearby?

Generous fellow that I am, I'll let you use mine free of charge, Let me know the ETA . Some else told me today that ducks make excellent security guards. Maybe I should invest in some in the meantime .

K-3 and DA*200 ƒ2.8
ISO 500m ƒ8 or ƒ5.6 and AV 1/60 -1/200

I've had a cackle of 40 or 50 grackles all summer. They of course dominate everything but the blue jays, But as a result, the smaller birds are in the habit of barging in and getting the best seats, sometimes when my hands are still on the feeders. The nuthatch sits on the bill of my baseball cap. As soon as the chopped nuts are spread on the horizontal feeder, it's pig out time for the samall birds. Hence, I can stand 3 feet away. They like it, the large birds won't come near. As long as I'm there, they keep coming back. The Pine Siskins just sit on the feeder, close enough I could probably grab one.

The chickadees are quick, it takes a lot of shots to get one you like.

And my buddy the nuthatch. There's two so far, and they are always fighting. I suspect siblings. There' also a White Breasted Nuthatch, but, there's no pictures to date. He hasn't figured out the routine yet.

My dogs have always tried hard to catch ducks. I'll remember to bring one of them.

Lots of white-throated sparrows passing through at the moment - there's usually one pecking around under our thistle feeder.

Not a common bird here--a thrush of some sort just passing through, I guess.

A hawk came by this morning and posed for me. K-1 and D FA 150-450, 450mm, center cropped.

How do you all link from Flickr? I don't know why it's so complicated for me. For the above image I used the share and bbcode but I had to delete more than half of the code. It was so simple on SmugMug by just right clicking the image and selecting copy image location. I think I'm missing something somewhere somehow.

It was good morning to be out shooting. Leaves have started to fall, that means more light, and the sun was shining.

Our last grackle, all the others seem to have left. I think he missed the wakeup call.

He got to the rail too late for the peanuts in the shell.(They disappear before I'm even done filling feeders.) He is some kind of annoyed.

This guy did very well on the peanuts however, no doubt he has a smirk on his face.

We still have lots of sparrows.

Lucky you, a Wood Thrush. We hear them all the time, we never see them, I've never gotten a picture of one, despite many times stalking them by their calls through the woods.
