Went out to get better pictures of redpolls. This one from a few days ago needed better light, lower ISO, wider DoF, yada yada yada.
K-3 and Tarmon 300 2.8 with F 1.7x AF adapter (510mm ƒ4.5)
ISO 200, ƒ8, AV

Today I had sun but no birds. There were 60 out there when the light was bad. Today, none. What can you do?

While I was waiting, a few of the regulars.

Hey, old / new member

Here's a few regulars to our place. Thanks for looking, all shot on the K7 and either the Vivtar 400mm or a Sigma 70-300mm.

New to me Tamron 135mm F2.5, trying it out when we get some sun.
This Blackbird is probably one of the juveniles from last year, I am thinking that as a female Blackbird (Mum?) bullies it a lot.

My Butcherbirds are nowhere near that friendly but given that when they visit they are subject to harassment by Magpies, Magpie Larks, Noisy Miners and Wattlebirds that's not surprising.

Juvenile Grey Butcherbird, K3 DA*300 + Tamron-F 1.4TC.

It's been so long since I came across one of your posts Stephen I was wondering what happened to you. You can post as many bird images you want, but you'll always be the guy with the amazing steam train images to me.

We can't find the bittern. Sneaky little birds they are.

It's the train! Lovely images Stephen.

Some more of our parrot visitors. First shot is K-S2 + DA 55-300 PLM. The rest are K-3 + FA*300 f4.5

You get tired out being a young Galah, so you need to have a nap with your friend.

Mother keeping a watchful eye on the youngsters.

Rainbow Lorikeet. These are relative newcomers to Gippsland.

So are these Little Corellas.

Australian King Parrot (male). They were named after Phillip King, an early colonial Governor of New South Wales, because of his distinctive green uniform!

A recent shot of the Crimson Rosella-Eastern Rosella hybrid who has been hanging around for a while now.
