eastern bluebird

First two shots of the female and male were at a distance of roughly 30 meters so required an extreme crop. Then the male landed in an apple tree about 10 meters away. They are a pretty bird and not very spooky but it seems that I am not usually in the right spot at the right time to get half decent photos of them. This time I got lucky.
Best Regards, Bob

Nice shots of the Blue birds, Bob. Wishing I could make my brother understand that not all blue birds are called Blue Birds as what he calls a Blue Jay.

Same brother has started setting out sprinklers to try to make our grass greener. Yesterday he put one in back near the feeders and, the Doves, and Squirrels, and the Cardinals came to enjoys the spray of water to keep cool from the 90 degree heat.

The Blue Jays came to the bird bath but didn't care much for the sprinkler and didn't stay on the feeder long either:

The Hawk I showed earlier, has been identified as a immature Red shouldered hawk, not Cooper's hawk. Pete Tarmigan ID'd it for me. So, it's a baby of the pair of Red-shouldered we have here year around.

A few from today

Chipping sparrow

American Goldfinch

I'm pretty sure my migrants are gone, and we're done to the regular crew.

My birds are coming back, and I fed peanut butter yesterday with the only comment my brother made was, he wouldn't spend that kind of money on them, I buy Jif, he said he'd feed them the cheap stuff. This the brother that didn't want me feeding the squirrels at all. LOL

Big brother used to give old bread for the birds, two days ago, he gave me a half a loaf of old bread and said, "this is for the squirrels". I've turned them around. And they didn't even know it. ROFLOL

Before you know it they will be buying "designer" bird seed and feeding the squirrels multi-grain bread And they will believe it was their own great idea

I was out in the back checking if my "apparently" ground based young Blackbird and trying out my new to me Minolta APO 100-300mm. Apologies for not using my Pentax.

And another shot of the immature Red-shouldered hawk
