Yes, we are very fortunate. Thanks for your comment.

EDIT 31 Oct 2020: The New Holland Honeyeater photo disappeared and I can't now edit that post, but I can edit this one. So here it is again:

More goldfinches.
The one in the background seems to be looking on in contempt for the fore one for being the subject of the picture.

A trio of shots from this spring. A couple of Geese going at it in the back yard. Not sure if it was territorial or just geese being geese.

This is not going to end well - Part 1

This in not going to end well - Part 2

Part 3 - The Encounter

The Koels are back. The male is the black one. A common name is rainbird or stormbird but unfortunately they haven't brought the rain with them, still in drought here.

They're both beautiful. Nice close-ups too.

So sorry to hear and read about your ordeal there with all the bushfires and the continuing drought. People generally will manage, but I feel so sorry for all the animals as well that are suffering and losing their habitats.

Those are beautiful pictures! I'm hoping the Koels - if not yet bringing rain, are harbingers of it coming soon.

Thanks for viewing.

These were taken handheld AF with the DA300, 1.4TC and K1. Some cropping done so not real close-ups. I have found the DA300 and 1.4 HD TC does not focus properly on the K3 but works well on the K1.

As for the rain the saying here is it will rain, just don't know when.

Here is another.

We don't have as many colourful birds around as some of you, but I still enjoy them
