Today we saw for the second time an unusual visitor to our back yard. I didn't post the first time, last week, because something new went wrong: My SD card told the camera it was locked, even though it wasn't.
Until this visitor showed up, our largest visitors were crows and jays stealing our song bird seed from the feeders. This visitor picked up seeds from the spills under the biggest feeder and then perched on our fence to decide the next "restaurant" to visit.
It has no wattles. Does that mean it is a juvenile? We are not all that up to snuff with turkey information.
For the curious techies:
K-3 (2007) + DA 55-300 ED 1/500 @ f/8 TAv with floating ISO at 3200, 3.5 fps. Back button focus on the head, auto 9 point. This is the best of [many] taken while it was on site.
