K-3, DA*60-250 and HD DA 1.4 TC From the back yard The doves that are wintering with us. Toughest doves ever. They had 4 little ones last year, we know one was eaten, we found the feathers, the other three likely migrated south.   I've been trying for while to get these guys, today a few posed for me. Evening Grosbeaks male and female    We have Blue Jays all day every day. I guess this one is the Blue Jay of the day.  | |

Was time to dust off the ol' K-50 again so when this Red-breasted Sapsucker landed on one of our maple trees I attached my DA* 300MM to it and snapped a few off our front porch.  | |

I wasn't going to post these here, it wasn't at my feeders... but it was in my yard... so I guess I'm legal. K-3 and DA 55-300 PLM and HD DA 1.4 TC at 364mm I was out in the shop, planing some wood when I noticed this guy on a tree nearby. So, run in the house grab the camera, try and sneak out for some images. He was very wary, but he let me have a few. -10ºC  at 400mm  Looking up @ 294mm  Last edited by normhead; 01-25-2022 at 07:13 PM. | |

Today at the feeders..... I used the K-1 with the DA*60-250 and HD DA 1.4 TC. Who says birds don't like corn? This bird had a choice....  A little downy woodpecker  Picking and choosing...  Evening Grosbeak  | |

Australian Magpie (misnamed, as it is not a corvid but a member of the Artamidae family - butcherbirds, currawongs, woodswallows, etc). These are a very familiar sight and sound in Australia (lovely carolling call). Many people befriend them. Which is a good policy because if they don't know you they might swoop you during the breeding season! KP + DA 55-300 PLM  | |
