Surprise, surprise, I'll be in. After getting scared by the fungus in my Soligor (that sounds bad...) I've kept it off the camera since the month I used it before (when the photos showed me the fungus). I thought it would spread to the camera and destroy it. Reading more, I've stopped being skeered, and the lens, fresh from a few days sitting in bright UV-laden sunlight, will spend most of the next month affixed.

So, Soligor 1:2.8/35. As used at Western Sydney Parklands food festival today by me.

(Being my only other M42 lens, it means it won't be too much of a hassle to change to the 135 for the birds....)

I was hoping to return for November, after being sick (man flu) since I've returned home 3 or so weeks ago, however I'm over to Kangaroo Island to a mates property for a few weeks with no internet. Will definitely take lots of photos though….he even has a K5II!

I'm thinking to give the humble DA50 another single in treatment. I've used it last year during the Bokehcember. but that was mostly bokehlicious shots. How about normal shots!? we'll see.

My other possible choices, could be DA15 and DFA100WR, (No single in treatment yet), But after a month of 135mm, I would prefer a much shorter FL, but not the widest possible. So yes I think DA50 could be better.

Tsuken, my understanding is fungus requires a certain humidity to grow. A dry box for stored goods, and as you mentioned UV light are good preventative measures.

That's what I've been reading, yes - and that the air (including that circulating in the camera innards, of course) is full of spores anyway.

I have a question... Is it ok to use another lens during the month as long as you post one picture a day with your challenge lens?
Definitely! I frequently carry an alternative lens. Say my "month's lens" is long, I always carry something wide. For October I just kept the Rokinon 85/1.4 on the K-30 and kept the MX-1 in another pouch in my camera bag. (Yes. I have foresaken (forsook?) a stylish purse in favor of a padded nylon camera bag.) Although, sometimes making the shot "work" with the lens you brought is part of the challenge and the fun, for me.

I'll be in again for November, as soon as I can catch up with posting and commenting for October. ;-) I'm glad day one is a Saturday! Whew!

I'm thinking either the M200/4 or the M100/4 macro... but I might get silly and use my A50/2. I'm saving the M35/2.8 for December...

I've enjoyed October very much, so now I going to try the K28/3.5. One of the first lenses I pack for holidays, but it is hardly ever used for the rest of the year. My challenge will be to take more scenes of urban life around here, in unconventional ways. Just hope its not too dark and gloomy a month, weather-wise.

Cheers everyone!

I look forward to joining this month!

I haven't touched the cameras for very very long time, just moved to the new place, unpacking, and thinking: The less gear I've had, the more I used to shoot...

So one lens, one month - commitment to myself! I will use FA 50mm f1.4 mounted to E-M5...

Look forward to see everyone's work in November!

Kind regards,
D

I haven't decided if I'm in or not. It seems to be getting harder for me to find things that I haven't already shot. If I do this it will be with my latest acquisition the manual Tou/FIve Star 28mm f2.8.

Bonus points if you got sensor spots!

I will probably join November but my track record for successfully completing consecutive months is like nonexistent. Don't know what I will use yet, but it's either a Q with the Standard 01 or my Ricoh GR (I love my GR). No more heavy bags please!

Edit: A note on light

November is looking like this for me light wise:

November 1: Sunrise 07:26 set 16:38
November 30: Sunrise 08:25 set 15:50

Edit edit!:
I have decided to do a DogWalk(tm) month with the Q and 01 Standard lens. It was loads of fun last time around and I definitely need a bit of fun right now.

Here is a shot of me and Bingo on a field back in March 2013
