A wander in the summer dryness of the West Australian bush:

These small dry flowers are one of only a couple of species flowering at this late time of the growing cycle. Western Australia is known for its wildflowers but ot many in mid summer.

SMC Pentax 50/4 Macro

Used the in-camera flash for this one, diffracting it with the lens cap.

Bee-bombed flower macro. BTW, taken with a shirt-pocket Panasonic LF1.

Friend, this flower is a Dahlia. Wonderfully captured by the way. Well done.

first attempts at using flash when snapping macro of flowers.

i think i didnt manage to nail it for all the attempts, because everything came out "odd".
"Odd" as in, wasn't what i was expecting and/or hoping for.

Anyway, since didn't manage to nail the images, so, next best possible thing to do, is to post process them to some other kind of "look".

(I snap jpegs, so, "post process" will mean pp'ing the jpegs itself, not RAW images).

Share some here.

All snapped with Sigma 105mm EX DG macro.

I like your flash flower images. Flowers are my main photo interest, and I seldom use flash, but think I may start trying a few just for effect. Hope you will continue posting your flower images.
