Photographing the flower I used additional lens from slide projector. Windowsill photography.

BTW It'd be nice to announce new category, this one. Shooting flowers on windowsill forces to think harder, not every direction is available like in the gardens, for example.
Picture was slightly postprocessed with GIMP, really, soft touches. The additional lens helped a lot.

Many images of roses on this thread, the one you posted is slightly different. I like the way the straight-on perspective emphasizes the spiral curve of the petals. Nice work.
