This is the closest I've come yet to having an actual "Macro" lens - the Pentax-M 50mm f4 Macro. My Tamron 70-300 LD Di gets this close - maybe slightly closer at 1:2, while this 50mm gets to 1:2.2. But the Tamron in that setting is so soft even at f8, it's not even worth using.
