Not really a macro image, just some small flowers, M's favorite Spring blossoms. We used to have dense patches of these in the back, but all save a few stragglers have died.

First macro posting with K-1 and 645mm/4.0 macro lens

I've only had the Pentax-A 645 120mm f 4.0 macro 1:1 for couple of days, but delighted so far.

Lens has flare problems when pointed toward landscape scenes, but apparently no problem at all for most macro shots.

Here are few samples with lens wide open in AV mode.

Sheep laurel are just coming into bloom. A very pretty little blossom if you take the time to look closely.

The photo above is part of small strawberry flower shot with the EL-Nikkor 50/2.8 (older version) reversed on some empty lens (deglassed Pentax A 50) and deglassed A-teleconverter. I set f 8.0 on camera body, image cropped.Crossposted to the Lens clubs section.

The herb Death Come Quickly has several names. Its proper Latin name is Geranium robertianum

Mostly known here as "herb Robert" or "crane's bill."

Not entirely a flower, I suppose...

The bottom end of a pinecone, so more of a fruit?

SMC-m 200 f4 (the regular one) with a Raynox 250, around f16. Pixel-shifted

This has taught me a few things...
1) I need to learn how to focus stack
2) The dining room table, propped on a stack of lens caps is not a macro rig
3) when doing PS on 25s exposures, make sure the 4-year-old is not moving chairs in the room at the same time
4) Dang, that Raynox gets you close with good quality

Ever since I tried them myself I've been recommending Raynox to anyone who wants to experiment with macro. My own rather extensive tests indicate that on a good-quality prime lens (not necessarily premium quality) and many zoom lenses, images taken with a Raynox are essentially indistinguishable from those taken with an excellent macro lens.

Below: one of the many wildflowers that have emerged from the mass of seeds I scattered last Fall. There were 25 varieties in the mix, over a million seeds, plus I purchased small packets of two species not in the mix that I like (common names: Joe Pye weed and butterfly weed, AKA orange milkweed)
