An $8.00 lens and light from a window.

These were taken with an $8.00 Sears 28mm macro lens and available light from a window. Oh how I wish I could get details in the reds in the rose like those in the marigold or the white cosmos! Reds are almost impossible to render well!

Actually, Tiny Flowers are mostly macro shots. If you read how Paleo Pete (aka Billy) got his shots and how I got mine, these are all macros.
I see. I wondered why there were so little flower shots posted here. I admitted that I did not know the tiny flower posts... But it seems to be a right place here :-)

Nice shots @Dewman. I always struggle with reds, and purples too (purple pansies). I either blow the details out, or things are too dark. Think I've seen a few threads that say reds can be really tough.

Me too... I feel that pentax makes red more saturated...

I don't mind seeing a macro flower section here. But since it is a Macro Photography section, posting your technique, lens, camera, lighting, equipment, etc. should also be included with the image. I know some are already doing this.

Makes sense, and will do, moving forward.

Stamen on a Christmas cactus. We just moved into our home last year, and the previous homeowner left this behind, saying we could do what we wanted with it -- because it would never bloom for him. Well true to form, it yielded nothing last year -- but this year, it went crazy.

K-50
Sigma 50mm Macro EX
f/10
ISO 200
SS 1/30th
onboard flash w/cloth diffuser

I know next to nothing about using flash on my K-50 (first camera), and have just started experimenting with the onboard unit. I have been tempted by a couple of Metz models in the Marketplace, but don't know what I really need to get, or how to use them for that matter.
