Actually this is an old photo: If we made candy this early, none of it would last until Christmas around here... We usually get together a bunch of family members on either December 22nd or 23rd and do a heap of these - it's a bit like play dough, except you get to eat it at the end! One of my favourite traditions!

A night time food fair in Barcelona. Winter sure is different there, compared to our snowy, cold fairs, that only serve Glühwein and pretzels

Koeksisters- Literally Cake Sisters. A spicy cake dough, fried in oil, dipped in syrup, sprinkled with coconut. Traditionally had on a Sunday morning. Origin Cape Malay, and back of that, Malaysia.
