Sheffield, Australia, bills itself as the graffiti or street-art capital. They have constructed about 30 double-sided panels in a municipal park specifically for street-art painting, by invitation, with a public opinion voting spot for the best work.. "Celebrating Diversity" was my favorite of these (yes you will see more of them, no you will not see all of them). There is also art on some buildings around town, much of it more interesting and better executed, IMHO, than the street art in the official location.

The blacksmith looks like artwork, but the wagon wheel and ladder could almost pass for real objects at a quick glance. Notice that the mountain behind the officer has a ventilator. Perhaps it's a volcano that needs to let off stream.

A couple more from Sheffield. These are on random buildings, not in the official street-art park. If you don't know the animals in the second image, the little clack-and-white guy is a Tasmania devil. The one with the striped rump is called a Tasmanian Tiger, or Tasmanian Lion, or Tasmanian Wolf. The last one died in captivity about 1936. Paleontologists in this country prefer "wolf" because the skull looks a lot like a placental wolf or a large dog such as a German Shepherd. The Tasmanian wolf is/was a marsupial. There is/was something that we call a "marsupial lion" (genus Thylacoleo) that looks quite different. Like true cats, it is/was a short-faced carnivore.
