Thanks Paul. It was a spectacular sight. I didn't alter the saturation, just bumped the clarity slider and increased the contrast a bit.

Sunset over Port Albert, Victoria, made more dramatic by an approaching storm. K-30 + DA 12-24. The first one is corrected (with DxO ViewPoint) for the distortion in the houses (from putting them at the bottom of a 12mm shot!) but in the process much of the sky is cropped out. The second one in not corrected for distortion and is uncropped. I like the sky better in the second one, but I find I can't ignore the distortion in the houses! I could crop out the houses, but then it would be an abstract cloudscape, and I like the sense of place, plus the reflection in the sea. Oh well ...!

When I was a geology major at ASU back in the 70s, I used to hike up Tempe Butte to watch the sun set over the Phoenix skyline. Arizona has some of the best sunsets I've ever seen...!

For me, the houses are small enough in the frame that I hardly notice the distortion. Nice work!

Thanks Paul and Taks. I think that's how most people would see it without pixel peeping. It's hard to unsee when I know it's there - but realistically, even viewing closely on Flickr, it is pretty inconspicuous. Thanks again.
