An old broken Elgin watch

An old broken 19 jewel Elgin watch. The face and case of this watch is in pretty bad shape and it doesn't work but it makes for some interesting photos. Taken with a 28mm SMC takumar on the #1 M42 extension tube with a reversing adapter. F/8, ISO 100, 2 sec, flash hand held above .

The Free Beer clock at Hoopers Crab House in West Ocean City, MD. I could never collect on that free beer; I was always a day early.

Before the quartz watches arrived, for a 20 year span, the tuning fork Accutrons were the most accurate watches available. This one of mine form 1971 served me well in my airline career as it had two time zones and that helped when crossing the dateline.
Eventually a coil failed, and it wasn't until a few years ago that I found someone who specialized in fixing them. Now it is up and running again.
