Does this count? I have numerous MF shots, as I rarely use any other mode, M, and MF all handheld.
Lovely shot, very graceful.

I took this one several years ago with a K20D and Super Takumar 300mm f/4.

Interesting idea for a thread.
Angry Bird.........
The story behind these shots are that this red wing black bird was defending his area against me walking my regular path. Must have had a hen nesting near by. He was flying fast, and diving out of the sun, coming within 2-3 feet from my head! So I started hauling my camera with a Super Takumar 50 1.4 lens to see what I could do. He disappeared after a couple of weeks. These have all been posted elsewhere.

Beautiful, esp love the owl!

@dunerunner - I remember these from earlier this year - great captures of a difficult subject!

Chickadee on take off

Pileated Woodpecker fly by

Hummingbirds fighting over the feeder. 50mm lens with flash

Scissor Tailed Flycatchers. One chased the other off the perch. No idea why, they usually get along pretty well.

This Mockingbird perched in the top of a tree, barely visible at bottom of the shot, singing non stop. Every couple of minutes he would do a somersault and land back in the same spot, and never stop chirping...

Same bird different day

Oooo I didn't know we had this thread going - here are few of my fairly recent challenging shots with manual focusing - already x-posted in several places but I think they belong in 'it can't be done' thread too

K-01 and ST 50mm @ f/1.4

K-01 and ST 50mm @ f/2

K10D (so no catch in focus, mind you:P) and SMC-M 35-70 @ f/4

Thanks! These are impressive, particularly #1. More than once, I have wanted to suggest to those folk complaining about AF failure when shooting kids to simply switch to manual focus.

Thank you, yeah I agree about the kids and AF. When action is fast , it never even crossed my mind to use AF - K10D's isn't on par, and even if it were , I would not get right many of the shots I have from my outings with kids. High burst rate could be of some help, but then you spray 10 frames to get one, often half decent.

I prefer the old school way: I get the shot when I see one, instead of delayed by 0.5 sec that camera needed to lock the AF, where the moment is already gone ...

I hate that...no telling how many shots I missed with a point and shoot...

A couple more recent ones

One of only two successful attempts at a Squirrel running...

Me neither! Gread idea for a thread, Steve, and great shots, all! It was fun going through what's been posted so far. But there's a serious deficit of one thing Steve specifically mentioned in the first post:

dogs in flight
Thanks for getting us started on my favorite topic, Jason! I have a backlog of manual-focus-flying-dog pictures. I've posted most of them in the "Pets" thread before, but I hope you don't mind if I post again.

Helios 40 (85mm f/1.5):

Sigma 30mm f/1.4, with autofocus disabled. I prefer it that way for this sort of picture, anyway.

Okay, not entirely airborne. A 50mm f/1.2

Takumar 135mm f/2.5

Same.
