A box!! Thanks, Papi...we love a box!

Annabelle in her tube-bed. It looks cat-cozy, but she quit using it after a few weeks.

Our cats don't seem to care much for store-bought "cat beds". We have several, either purchased or received as gifts, and none gets much use or attention. They seem to prefer a snuggly fabric in a basket, or any random spot with or without a towel or blanket.

Maybe if you store it for a couple of weeks and then put it back she will use it again. That's what we do with our cats and seems to work.

The tube bed, SFAIK, is long gone. Annabelle prefers various chairs. Those she's allowed to use have kitty cushions that are removed when a human wants to sit. One chair I tried to make her special place has a special kitty-friendly heating pad which she does use regularly in the winter. Chairs we've decided she cannot use have nasty-looking plastic pads covered by toothpick-size spikes, what you might expect a cat that was an Indian Moslem/Hindu fakir to sit or lay upon. She stays off.

BTW: A few days ago Annie went in for her annual check-up (she does not like that) and was pronounced hale and hardy, amazingly free of any problems for a a cat at least 19 years old. On the other hand, yesterday (Saturday) our daughter had to have her cat Fiona put to rest. She was about 18 and has had severe arthritis for several years, but she had suddenly taken a turn for the much worse, unwilling to eat or drink, struggling to use the litter pan. Thankfully A found a vet who makes house calls when a pet needs to put down. Fiona was an indoor cat, declawed before A adopter her, never let outside, and was terrified of traveling in the car. Fiona had lived with A for about 16 years through some wonderful and some really terrible personal times. A wrote to me just today, Fiona was unafraid, as comfortable as her failing body would let her be, and went to her rest peacefully. A finds her house painfully quiet (Fiona was pretty noisy), almost as if it were haunted.

I should ad that Annabelle does have one age-related problem = she is almost completely deaf. I can relate to that as very recently I've added audio-enhancers to my wardrobe. They let me hear more, but the sound quality is not like natural hearing despite being high-end units, theoretically state-of-the-art. They are adjusted via an APP on my cell phone. I'm skeptical about some of settings available.

Condolences to A on Fiona's passing. Sounds like she may have had renal failure, which is common in senior cats.

...ESPECIALLY clothes fresh out of the dryer in a basket/pile on bed as I posted a little ways back here!
