She does bring in mice from outside, especially on a drizzly night during the summer. However a previous cat, Laura, a domestic long-hair with a somewhat flattened face, not quite like a pure Persian, was the best house-mouser I've had. There was a memorable time she was spotted coming down the woodsy hill behind our house hauling a dead owl at least as big as herself. She'd pull it along maybe eight to ten feet, then set it down and talk about it for a while, then start hauling again. I very much doubt she caught and killed it.

A recent pic of my growing Kitten, Tigger.

Pentax K-1 - SMCP-FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited @ f/2.8 ISO 3200 1/250th

He eats a lot, but he burns it all off on running around the house at full tilt.

They grow so fast. My boys will be 6 months old at the end of the month. Tigger's markings seem to be bolder as he grows up.

Here's a poor low-light phone snap of Chloe, a rescue kitten we adopted about a year ago. She's probably the most difficult cat we've had - very skittish and not overly affectionate. She's slowly starting to come around, and at least let me get close enough for a phone snap...

Feral Kitten

I took this photo last summer while on a photo safari at our local wildlife reserve, about 5 miles from my home. I would have gladly taken him (?) home with me, but he and his sibling were very wary. They were both very healthy looking, due to the locals keeping them well fed. Hopefully, they were adopted before winter set in.

Taken with a Pentax K-50 using a Sigma APO DG 70-300mm lens. I've come to love this lens, and I'm very surprised at the low ratings. Mine has proved to produce some very sharp, detailed images. I love the fact that it will render some amazing 1:2 macro from a distance of 37". I don't own another lens that will even come close to that. It's a great lens for those of us seasoned citizens who have a difficult time of getting those close-up images close to the ground!
