Glad if it brought a chuckle, and yes, it was during the Greece trip, on Mikonos which is famous or notorious for the large number of cats.
A lot of cool cats on Greece?

We look after a bunch of "community cats" that live in our yard. Over the years the colony has grown and shrunk, we've managed to get virtually all of them to the county's TNR program for spaying and neutering, so the kitten factories got shut down. I'll share some images of a few of them, plenty more in the archives.

First, two shots of the one we call "Tigger", when he was a baby and then after he grew up

Annabelle sitting in a cement mini-birdbath that I use as a pedestal and water basin for the big flowerpot behind it.

More community cats... this is Roxy, who single-handed <?> populated more than half of the colony over a period of about 5 years. She was the #1 target for trapping and spaying, it took us years to finally <!> get her in a carrier for The Ride. Actually trapped her twice but on both occasions the TNR place was closed for some holiday schedule or other. After that, she wouldn't get near a trap, so we had to wrestle her into a carrier. Will share some of her brood anon, but this is the dowager empress of the colony. Shot before TNR, you can see that her left ear isn't yet tipped.

So glad that at the end you managed to spay her. She looks so pretty.

She is a beautiful cat, no mistake, maybe that's a reason she was so popular with the toms Actually she was a neighbor's cat for a long time, she would bring the kittens down to our house and gift them to us. They all went for TNR as soon as they were big enough. Eventually she "moved in" with us. About half of the colony is the result of her trysts. We celebrated when we finally got her spayed, and we haven't had to trap and haul cats to the TNR service since. Should there ever be a need, we can do it, we have two very good traps ready to deploy if necessary.

Here's Tigger again, wrestling with another member of the gang. Not sure which of the several tabbies is his dancing partner in this image.

Jazmine

Our last rescue: Jazmine

This little cutie was living on the stoop of a building in New Rochelle, the residents all loved feeding her and playing with her but they soon realized that she was too sweet to be an outside cat forever. She was scooped up and brought to the shelter by us (wife + me) and is now nice and warm with her forever family.

Good on you! All of our indoor cats are rescues. We'd rescue most of the outdoor colony if we could bring them all in (just not possible, alas), but we did the next best thing and had them all spayed/neutered. We provide for them as best we can.

I've been playing around with straight-from-camera B&W JPEG in the last day or two. Here's one of my test shots... Boo Boo (our rescue cat), on his favourite "re-use, recycle" plastic bag, chaise longue behind him, and his current favourite Amazon cardboard box just off to the right

He had a rough time recently... his last remaining teeth had to be extracted, and an ominous lump on his side removed - which, thankfully, turned out to be merely a sweat gland that had blocked up and turned fibrous. Still, he's doing well now, and fully recovered for Christmas

Photo taken with my old K-5 and FA50/1.4 lens...

Two of Roxy's brood, Nala and Chica. These two were part of the very last litter before spaying. There was a third kitten, solid black, "Roly", but he vanished one day. Nala is a short-hair version of her mother, Chica was the runt and remains a very small cat.
