Thanks for rescuing them!
This one is a
very lucky kitty... she was a stray kitten that showed up at my former workplace, got "adopted" there. But she ran afoul of the boss's Rottweilers, suffered an injury. Very long story short, got her to the vet, after Xrays he determined that the injury was a tiny break in one of the vertebrae just above her tail. Vet said he thought she would recover from it without surgery, if she was allowed to rest. So I took her home with me for rehab and meds. After a few days she was much improved and time came to take her back. Told the boss he owed me for rehab services and he said, "why don't you just keep her...she'll be safer away from the dogs..." Which was true, but we had to have a family conference about it (already three other cats in the house...). But -- surprise! -- by then she had bonded with Mr. Orchid (he is a real softy), and we couldn't take her back to The Dogs. So she moved right in, part of the household chaos now. A very sweet (and very spoiled) kitty. She's had her exams, her shots, her spay surgery, plenty of toys and (somewhat reluctant) playmates.
