The more input the merrier Brad. Variety helps keep the challenge alive.

I'm comfortable with any or all of your suggestions and I reckon everyone would have the potential to participate. We all eat, we all live in something, the sky's ubiquitous; it's not hard to round up a group of objects; and we can branch out as resources/capabilities permit.

+1 to that - and the b&w and texture suggestions.

We need a vote? Or just someone to grab the nettle and put forward four or five dates and themes...

May have to join back in for the (what is it 5th or 6th) anniversary of this challenge. Either a Vivitar 28/2.5 M42 or a Rikenon XR 50/1.4. Not sure yet. But, travels for work (London for now) will force some late posting at times.

I'll be traveling quite much too, but Now I'll buy new laptop so posting on the road(not the main reason for buying that) will be more easy. Now I have to decide on which laptop...13/15 inch...but that is another story.

I'm waaaaay behind on the commenting. A couple of month at least. Possibly more. So it will be CommentingInSeptember for me this month.

This is the chance for the Co-ordinator to wield Power . Make the call, post it and unless there is a chorus of objections, your decree rules!

I sorely mislike power xP

But ok. I'll have a look through (tomorrow, as I'm getting sleepy now) the suggestions, and stick up and amended theme schedule.

I'll also edit the post on the first page, so anyone who lands there will get the right days and themes.

As for me for September, I've thought of another way, another lens. Sticking at almost exactly the field of view of August, and (assuming I am right about the plastic for my birthday) October, I'm thinking of using my 28mm Takette on my Lumix G10. Have hardly used that camera since getting the K-30, and do feel ambivalent about it, but it might be fun. Dunno.

Thoughts?

So far I have had a vote for 55 (done about two months ago), 135 (done in January, and I am just finishing a month at 200), and 43. Of the three, only the last makes any sense to me, but I want to do that on the FF.

Q7 + 01 is tempting. Another option might be revisiting my 10-17 post repair, and comparing it with the 03 on the Q7.

Not happening. I already have too many.

Whoah! When did I say that? I reckon it's quite usable from f/3.2....

I have a thing for great wide angle shots...
10-17 would be fun to see. I think I missed the last time you used it.

About time I jump in here. Looks to me that I've already made up my mind. For my 365 project with the Q-system, in September I'm now through with all 8 Q lenses. So...up next will be a Holga HL-PQ lens for Q mount. Totally all plastic lens that I don't know much about...perfect for September I suppose!

I will continue doing dual lenses in September with my K-mount series and will be using my K-mount converted Nikkor 24 f2.8 lens.

Should be a fun month as I have a multi day photo shoot in the Eastern Sierra middle of the month. Off we go again.

What focal length is that? Nevermind - I found it 10mm. Interesting lens. Sparked a bit of debate: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/136-pentax-q/270023-holga-hl-pq-10mm-lens-2.html

It's going to be a different field of view for one (as of course you know, but trying to persuade you hahaha), so don't let this stop you... Plus, if you 43 it on up now, it's probably still going to be a few months before you're rockin' the FF.

Oh, yes, that thread. [Yawn!] It's a friggin' Lomo lens. Shooting with it for a month will be fun at first, then frustrating, then time to move on. No big deal really.

September has always been spotty performance for me, but I've taken the summer off. I'll be rolling with a newly acquired SMC Tak 50/1.4 - super clean, 8 blades, and not even that yellow.

I still have no idea what lens to use.

I've decided nothing. Here's what tossed in my head... 8 months of SIC; 7 participating (6.5?), 7 lenses used. 15, 35, 50. 70, 85, 200, 60-250. Of these 6 were primes, two were DA*, two were limiteds, one was an A*, one was a plastic fantastic, one was a nifty fifty. Nothing over f/4 wide open.

The things missing: Lightweight Zooms (DA 50-200, DA 55-300, DA 18-55, DA 18-135), Dedicated Macro (F 100 2.8), SuperTelephoto (Sigma 400 AF), Manual Zooms (80-200 M series f/4.5) ,,,,,,,,,,,,mmmmm
