I don't feel like it was the greatest year for myself, a lot of average stuff. A couple of good ones, usually what I like does not turn out to be the ones others like. These are probably my favorite 10 of 2015.

I was very happy to get this barred owl, so I have to include it

I have a lot of photos of cabbage whites, but I like the curled leaf theat the butterfly is sitting on

A candid photo of my daughter and her now fiance

I actually went out to get a sunset, but this was not what I was looking for, it was much better

I look for full moon rises every month, this was one of the few that was not overcast this year

Our cat Fester is a great model

Laying belly down on the beach with a DA 15 Limited gets you a descent perspective

I thought this singer put on a good show of expressions along with a good voice.

I like the range of colors in this landscape

Thos cooper's hawk was too busy celebrating over his meal of house sparrow to care about me.
I love the barn shots, Tom. It looks to me like a very good year. I think the thing about photography is you can always wish for a little better light or, that you had done something a little different, but that's a very nice set.

I guess I progressed as a photographer as I consider pretty much all I did this year as 'so-so'.
List of my favorites, In chronological order:

1. Athens, Greece

2. Limassol, Cyprus

3. Limassol, Cyprus

4. Krakow, Poland

5. Istanbul, Turkey

6. Istanbul, Turkey

7. Kourion, Cyprus

8. Limassol, Cyprus

9. Limassol, Cyprus

10. Limassol, Cyprus
Very nice shots. I particularly like the ship at night.

Awesome images here so far. Like Norm, I've narrowed it down to about 25. Here are the 10 I like best. Most from the Single In Challenge.

Looks like a year with a lot of variety. Wildlife and a little bit of everything else. First three shots really caught my eye.

I actually like your second set better than your first set. The colors on the second photo and the framing on the first really stand out to me.

I always find it difficult to pick my "best" photos. It just causes me to become too critical and think that none of my photos are any good...

But here are a few anyway

This one I am actually quite happy with. A cape fox pup playing around in the early morning light.

I have never been much into portraits, but as lions rarely look straight at you (at least when you're in a vehicle) I found this one quite striking.

One more from the animal kingdom. It can often be hard to convey who big giraffes actually are, but I think I managed to capture that in this one.

Got myself a Lensbaby this year, and this is a shot I like. The characteristic Lensbaby look gives a sense of speed to contrast the red light (even though the MC stands perfectly still).

A street scene from Rouen, France. Not sure I managed to correct the distortions as well as I should.

The American military cemetary, Normandy, France.

Bayeux, France.

Back to Norway. Really just out testing the FA31, but I like this one - even if the horizon looks crooked (but it's really not).

From another test run (K24). Nothing special, I guess, but I still like it.

And just to make some heavy-handed use of symbolism I add a sunset as my tenth photo

My choice for this year has been influenced by views and success (or not) on Flickr, since I increasingly find that other people's feedback is very helpful in shaping what and how I photograph. And it was great to see the interest in photos of Takumar lenses!

Is this for Pentax (and a Sony) shots only? Do you care if it is from Canikon-crap cameras?

Apologies for the Sony shots. I'm supposed to hate them, apparently! 😀

This thread is brand neutral. There will probably be more Pentax shots, just because, but I didn't limit it.

My highlights of 2015

I'm not sure these are up the standard for a "Top Ten" list, but here are my highlights from 2015.

- Craig

Self-portrait in Munich

Bicycle in profile (also in Munich)

Black-eyed Susan in the field (taken with smc 30mm 2.8)

The start of the glorious fall colours. Our fall/autumn weather lingered on through November and December this year.

Late-afternoon light on a small marsh near my home.

The smc Takumar 50/1.4 is one of my favourite oldies. Its designer was brilliant, I think.

Old technology, new technology? London, UK.

Also in London, Covent Garden. I think the architecture and antennas make for an interesting picture.

(Posted previously) An approaching storm on Britannia Bay, Ottawa River.

And, finally, number ten. I managed to get out with my camera quite often in the Winter of 2014-15, despite an unusually cold season. Looking forward to our first snowfall this season - hopefully we will not have a 'green' New Years Day!
