post processing challenge #168

post processing challenge #168 --- open till Friday the 8th?

Here's an older shot that I liked, it has potential, but never did anything with. I was never happy with any of the post work I did on it. It was always missing something...

I like a vertical crop for this one.

I liked the original crop. Went for a saturated Post Card look.

The second is a duotone with a light blue touch and a wild and crazy rotation.

Horizontal crop to keep the scene narrow and guiding the boat.

Clarification? "contest open until Friday the 10th" - Is that Friday the 8th.... OR the 10th (Sunday)??

Was focused on getting the buildings less distorted looking. Don't think I did a very good job now that I see what others did.

Sorry, not sure what I was looking at when I wrote the OP. That should be Friday the 8th.

There were a lot of HDR-ish images posted, but most of them went overboard, leaving uneven dark halos in the buildings (particularly the light gray one that meets the sky the most). But JHfwp brought out a ton of details in the sky, without sacrificing the building edges next to it. On top of the that, the boat in the water is a nice bright white, instead of muddy gray. Its cropped in enough on the right to take away some of that boring tree, but not too much.

Great jobs from everyone. Its fun seeing so many different interpretations of an image.
