I get frustrated with the color in scans. I can never get it just right. It never looks quite like the original. Sometimes I give up and convert to B&W, which sometimes works (as in the images posted by Rense above), but not always. B&W sometimes blurs together elements of an image that separate well in color.

Here's my addition,
I went to the canyon for the first time last November, and i was actually lucky the road was still open. The North Rim road closes in winter and the day before we go, SNOW. Armed with a rental Elantra with all season tires, we braved the mountain road that was happily not closed. At the rim, we where alone and it was magnificent. Very happy to have seen the place, next time i plan to stay more than a day

Beautiful shot, I can easily imagine the clean crisp air. I would think you could even see the Sth Rim Village if you were to zoom in on this.
Great shot, deserves a wall.

I used my Sigma EX DG 24mm f1.8 down there (my go to lens if in doubt about light), and got reasonable results. If I can find them, I will post a couple.

Thanks a lot ! As i said, a was very lucky to have these conditions, even if it was tough to go up there with all the snow on the road ( as a Quebecer i was not scared at all ).

Matt, that is right up there with the nest GC images I have seen (well at least that I can remember!!)
Golden rocks in the foreground, trees at the foot of the canyon, nice light on the middle ground, the hazy horizon. Beautiful.

It has been a while since any photos have been added to this thread, so I will remedy that with this photograph.
