That's some interesting terrain in the third image. Where is that? And nice shooting in the first image. Balloons are usually rather boring when silhouetted but the sun and clouds sets them off very well.

Missed this the first time around. They have an annual festival around my parts, so I've taken a number of shots over the years.

Nice! Some of those balloons have appeared at the balloon races here. Did you know that hot air balloons have names? Your second, third and fourth images have an HDR quality to them. How was that achieved?

Stitched panorama are a good way to display balloons

Balloons have an 'apex', a point where all the panels are joined. Usually it's the top of the balloon but the Got Milk cow shaped balloon has its apex, well....

Its been a while, but if I remember right they were single-image HDR's. Basically take your RAW file and process it as you would an HDR image and bam. (that or they were full blown HDRs... its been a while, as I said

An annual balloon festival is held at Midland, Michigan. Spectators are admitted without charge, but they are asked to bring items to donate to a food pantry.

If conditions permit, tethered "glows" are held.

I heard a loud " Whooshing " noise early this morning and went outside to discover these 2 flying VERY close to the ground and the house. Ran inside and hooked up the DA* 60-250 to the K-3 and snapped away. The burners make quite a racket !!
