Walking with a few people, low light needing a wide aperture on a long hike, I just didn't want to take the time to be slowing everyone down, so Pocket camera time.

Todays afternoon dog walk.
I took the DA* 60-250 instead of the DA 18-135 or DA 55-300 to go with my K-3. I'm recovered enough and healed enough to not mind the weight anymore, and the extra 1.5 stops was crucial.

I was out for a walk in the local wildlife area Friday with my K-3 and 100 f2.8 macro.

And of course, a little wildlife

Well the theme is "Lichen-Fungi-Moss", so here goes.

I attempted to get shot of the fungus on a log, but the ground was damp, and tucking right down on my 69 year old knees while leaning forward to get the shot, was not an ideal situation. My knees started shaking, so I quickly tried to get a shot before falling over onto my face. I was manual focusing using liveview max magnify and at least I got two shots, but I shifted the focus point on each due to my complaining knees. Oh well, these things happen.

So after looking at the shots at home, I thought I would try a focus merge just for giggles. I thought you might enjoy the result.

The first image is the merge from the second and third images.

Fungi brought back to the studio to do focus stack. They were growing abundantly on an old fallen tree. This little patch of the bark was loose so I picked it off and brought it home. The larger globular fungi are roughly 1/4 inch (~6.4mm) in diameter.
