Grass around a tree trunk. I thought of this as two ways to deal with strong wind = mighty tree resisting the wind, and fragile grass.bending with it. In the long run, the grass has the better survival strategy as sooner or later the tree will fall in the wind.

Difficult to get the scale of this but each layer was the size of a dinner plate
