That sounds good. At first I was trying to get close up shots like I could get with my 18-135 or 55-300, but that wasn’t working out. I have been trying to step back and see a wider image to photograph. I agree that I will miss some shots if I have a prime opposed to a zoom. I have left the 21mm on my KP for about a week, but I have been working so I can’t shoot every day. I will probably use the 21 for the rest of the month to continue learning,
Good plan... it's so painful watching comments from people who haven't taken the time to understand a lens. MY observation on that lens would be, acceptably sharp (not razor sharp), but great transitions and DoF. It's not a lens I'd buy first, but now that I have one, I'd never get rid of it. It's just way to handy because of it's size. I can carry it in the water bottle mesh on the side of my camera bag.

Thank you for the support. I hope I can do this lens justice! Since I began posting photos here I have been more critical of my own work and hoping to learn from everyone else’s examples of what I can achieve. Seeing my work alongside someone else’s helps to give me some perspective and see how I can improve.

Still learning with my DA 21mm Ltd. I took our puppy dog out for a forest walk last week and saw:

Fungus

Leaves

Moss

Leaves and rocks

I was working on subject isolation and DOF, plus trying to keep the dog under control with all the forest smells she loves!
